With so many famous national parks in the country, especially in the east and the west, many of the parks in between are sadly often forgotten about. Covering a huge area, the midwest has national parks stretched across the region, from the Mexican border with Big Bend in Texas, all the way to the Canadian border with Voyageurs in Minnesota.

Throughout are notable parks packed with history. Theodore Roosevelt NP celebrates the 26th President's role in creating the national park system, as similarly done at nearby Mt. Rushmore National Memorial. Meanwhile, Gateway Arch celebrates the expansion of the USA in the 19th century, led by the explorers Lewis & Clark. The parks also protect fascinating landscapes and wilderness and often give a taste of what America was like before bustling cities came along!
